SEATTLE ASIAN ART MUSEUM

BRANDING

A new brand identity for one of the few museums in America dedicated exclusively to Asian art.

Seattle Asian Art Museum is a unique experience that ties Asian art through themes and cultural similarities instead of chronological or regional differences.

OVERVIEWOur rebrand for Seattle Asian Art Museum aims to (1) represent the experience one would have visiting the museum and (2) differentiate it from other museums that could potentially be perceived as similar.

My focus for this project was on brand concept, typography direction, digital assets, and copywriting. Logo direction, graphic elements, and print assets were led by Shane Warnick.

PROBLEMSeattle Asian Art Museum does not have a clear brand identity that distinguishes itself from its parent institution, Seattle Art Museum.

In response to the minimalist design and architecture of Seattle Art Museum, we created a brand identity for Seattle Asian Art Museum which highlights the intimate and enclosed feel of the museum’s gallery spaces.
